City Bowl Market on Hope is becoming the place where Cape foodies meet.
We cater for the whole family with a garden and jungle gym for the kids, draft beer for the dads and lots and lots of irresistible goodies to tempt and torment the fussiest of foodies.
It’s not just the sheer quality of the food on offer that makes City Bowl Market on Hope special – it is also about the people and the place.
Housed in an exquisite old building in Gardens with a fascinating history, the City Bowl Market on Hope is the place to meet friends and feed the family, while stocking the larder with a range of home-made delicacies.
We have spent months scouring the Cape for the most exciting stallholders and products – think bagels, Indian, sushi and croissants, but also fresh produce, bacon-and-egg rolls, ciabatta, cheese and everything in between.
Every Thursday and Saturday we bring together a variety of fine foods, drinks and people. You will experience an ancient way of shopping in a modern context at a high quality food market in Cape Town’s City Bowl.
The market is populated by a community of remarkable individuals, all of whom care deeply about the food and drink on offer. Many of our stallholders are themselves producers – people who grow, rear or bake the food that they sell.
Our mission is to be a viable and sustainable, independent, quality food market, rooted in the local community.
