Always good to visit where it all started. Thanks toni for having me at your place. I few things have changed in the venue, so my eyes where all over the place. Oo, Ah, very nice. Looking for a good place to hang out with some local live talent check out www.tonisplace.co.za

With Megan DU toit (Keys), Andrew (Bass) and Rob williams (Guitar). this trio blow me away. I dont think i could have pulled of my set after this act. I good show guys, would like to have you again on the next one.

I had fun jamming for the folk at Toni’s place hoping to be back there again with more tunes for you guys. Uploading a few videos from the night check them out.

Citta – Happy band of doom – March 2010

Once again at Citta and wow what an event. Turned out to become a Happy Band of doom gig. Together with Kenn and Wes from six of nine, Sam jam jamming it out with the boys.

I set list put together as we setup the little rig we had. Within it John mayer to Bob Dylan to 3 doors down, we jammed trying to remember the chords that we write down only an hour before the jam.

Wow boys, that was funny. Next time it’s going to be even better.

Life cafe with Hans – Feb 2010

With my newly found friend Hans Raubenheimer and songs from his Just believe album which is available from www.hansmusic.co.za. I dont know, with songs that good you cant not but enjoying listening or jamming along to them.

Had fun backing up my friend with some finger work and vocals. with an instrumental in between all that wow i want to do it again. So on the 10th april we will be having another show. this time adding Keyboard and Bass. It’s going to be a good one.

The Waiting Room – Dec 2009

Jamming with Miles at The Waiting Room, this has be one of my favourite venues in Cape Town. From the acoustics to the lounge feel of the room. It creates a kind of intimate vibe to any event held there.

I decide to bring out some of mine pedals and some new material and it was a winner. An oldie, “Abba Father”, words by my sister and music by Sam Jam, “Time” a song for a fellow musician in the struggles of a career. Really enjoyed playing those songs there. Looking forward to going back there with a backline of a drum and bassist.

The Righteous Jericho Battle of the bands – Nov 2009

Good to be jamming with very close friends and family and we were invited back to open for 2009 Jericho battle of the bands. With Marc in the fron with Vocals and guitar, Ty on drums and my sister Mary on vocals and Bass.

along with local bands from Port Elizabeth (Jimmy the Door, Eternal Perspective, Two88, and Calling on June winner of the event) at DF Malherbe school, this was a fun event to raise funds for a Thandusane baby home.

I hope to enter the event in 2010 with my close friends and family.

Cita Cafe – July 2009

Citta Coffee Shop and playing most of Sam’s original songs and maybe one or two covers. with a cup of tea with no sugar for the vocals, enjoyed playing some tunes for new friends.

“Six of nine” guys are awesome. A local band in cape town, sounds like creed with a heavier edge to it. I love there sound and good to hear something like that coming out of South Africa for a change. Maybe hook up with these guys in the future for some shows.

Toni’s – July 2009

Good to be back to my original home, well other than Kenyan, my second home. “Toni’s” the place where Sam Jam started as a live performer. Came to share more of the new tunes for the people who gave me a stage to start.

Thanks guys and all the rest who performed and hope to see you more in the future.

The righteous at uptown cinemas – March 2009

With Marc in the fron with Vocals and guitar, Shane on Keys, Ty on drums and my sister Mary on vocals and Bass. Sam jam jamming the vocals and lead guitar, we rocked out the evening to friends, family and Fans of Fly Piggy Fly and the righteous. Thanks, Uptown Cinemas, fly piggy Fly and all the people who came to rock out with us. Hope to jam there again in the future.

Hans + Sam Jam – May 2009

Having a Jam Session with Hans Raubenheimer (www.hansmusic.co.za). Featuring most of his songs and i will be backing him with guitar and vocals.

Live at Joshua Generation Lounge Jamming some tunes for a youth group of Joshua Generation church in Tableview. Was a two man gig, 2x acoustic guitars and two vocals. No band to back you so you had to keep it nice and tidy. Over all a fun experience and hopefully another session with a full band in the next month or two if possible.

Bass with Hans – Jan 2009

Another up coming artist in cape town with a passion for music. Hans Raubenheimer www.hansmusic.co.za.

We met randomly through our involvement in church and had a connection. So when moved to Cape Town I had the pleasure of jamming some bass for Hans at a 10 year celebration of Joshua Generation Church. Launching his new CD/DVD combo “Live in city bowl”, along with Emile, we setup a three piece had a few practices and jammed it up. that was fun!. I hope to do a lot more session with Hans in the future, so watch that space “Hans Raubenheimer”.

Mercury – Jan 2009

This was the first gig in Cape town and thou nerves was very keen to give it ago.

Six Gun Sessions – Monday nites downstairs are dedicated to giving new bands a platform to test out audience reaction to their music and for existing band to promo their upcoming gigs at Mercury. Live with just an acoustic guitar and what a challenging experience. Definitely a venue for a Sam Jam full band but pulled out some song in the back pocket they could sing along and saved the day. Thanks Mercury live and lounge for having me there and i hope to be back with a Sam Jam Band and give it another go.

Cape Town – Jan 2009

Moving to cape town in Jan 2009 to explore the music career further. starting with an acoustic vibe, Then taking the original songs and putting a band behind them. Anyone looking for acoustic tunes feel free to contact

The opening act – Sep 2008

No name for the band yet but had an awesome time jamming with Ryan(vocals and guitar), Gary(lead guitar), Lee(drums) and me on bass.

Played All original tunes after 2 months of practise. I good jamming with guys who enjoy just jamming. Ryan a brilliant song writer and Gary with some old school guitar licks. The songs just come together with the drums and bass in the back with me and Lee. Lee has only been playing the drums for about 2 years now and really sitting in nicely. Thanks guys really had fun jamming with you.

Drum Workshop – Sep 2008

With one of the most talented drum i have seen so far, Tim! you rock dude. Thanks for jamming out with me in the drum workshop.

The Drum workshop is something i am wanting to do for a while now. the evening was a good place to do a demo run for the concept. did have a lot of time to showcase a lot of tips and tricks. But basic sharing how i go about playing drums from tempo to grooving. At the end Tim and I had a jam session and the people loved it. So that was i good response to the demo. Plans for another should be on soon.
